H e l l o!
Up on the blog this week, we have a guest blogger. Brian Jeffries is giving us all the inspiration for hospitality design.
It’s one of the oldest sayings in the books: “You don’t get a second chance at a first impression.” Cliche as it may be, it has stood the test of time thanks to the truth it conveys.
It is especially true in the hotel industry, as guests will usually form an indelible opinion of a property within the first few seconds they step inside.
With this in mind, keep reading for ways to use stunning interior design to create memorable guest experiences!
Keep the Lobby Open and Inviting
Open space is critical for hotel lobbies. Guests don't want to feel like they are navigating a maze, and they definitely don't want to feel cramped or crowded as they tote their luggage following a long trip. An open design helps to make guests feel welcome and comfortable, which is essential for a positive guest experience.

In the event that an open lobby needs some more defined space, demountable glass partitions can be used to create temporary privacy without sacrificing the ambience of the open concept. This is ideal for social gatherings or other events that need to be separated from the regular flow of traffic. These partitions can be installed and removed quickly and easily, making them a convenient solution for hotels.

Use Railing to Promote Style and Safety
Railings are a critical component of a hotel's interior design theme. They can promote safety while boosting style, and they can help to create a cohesive look throughout the hotel. There are many different types of hotel railings to choose from, so you can find one that fits the style of your hotel.
One type of railing that is popular in hotels is cable railing. Cable railing is made from stainless steel cables that are tensioned between posts. This type of railing provides a clean, industrial look. Cable railing is also very safe, as the cables are spaced close together so that they cannot be climbed.
Tempered glass is another trending material to consider for hotel railings. It is a favorite railing type for hotels looking to capture the chic, modern interior. Glass is also a premier choice for promoting safety while still allowing light transmission that is central to the open interior theme.
Make Accent Walls Stand Out
Accent walls are an important focal point of hotel interior design. They can add interest and character to a space, and they can help to define the style of the hotel. There are many different ways to achieve a strong accent wall, and the right materials can make a big difference.
One way to create an accent wall is to use a contrasting color. For example, if the walls of the hotel are painted white, you could use a deep red or blue for the accent wall. Another option is to use a different texture for the accent wall. For example, you could use a fireplace stone veneer that is rough and rugged to add contrast to a sleek and modern hotel lobby.
Accent walls can also be used to highlight specific features of a hotel. For example, if the hotel has a beautiful fireplace, you could use an accent wall to draw attention to it. Or, if the hotel has a stunning view, you could use an accent wall to frame the view.

Deploy Signage Tactfully
Signage is an important part of any hotel interior design. It helps guests navigate the facility and provides information about the hotel. However, signage should not be an eyesore. It should contribute to the overall design of the hotel.
There are a few things to consider when designing signage for a hotel.
Choose a font that is easy to read and matches the style of the hotel. You don't want signs with an Old-English font adorning a minimalist hotel theme.
Additionally, use colors that are easily identifiable but don't clash with the overall design color scheme. You want signs that catch guests' attention without making them feel like they are in a construction zone at all times.
Finally, use high-quality materials that will last. It can be tempting to go cheap with signage due to the fact that it may need to change frequently, but the convenience will do more harm than good if the signage feels cheap and cheesy.

Don’t Sacrifice Function for Form
When designing a hotel interior, it is important to consider both form and function. The space should be beautiful and inviting, but it should also be easy to navigate and use.
Guests should not have to spend time trying to figure out how to use knobs and fixtures. They should be able to easily identify which features are for decoration and which are for use.
