This week on the blog we wanted to take the opportunity to fill you in on one of our latest hospitality projects. We worked with JKRP Architects on the Interior Design of the Regal Cinema inside of the brand new MGM Grand in Springfield, MA.
Seven years ago, a tornado ripped through downtown Springfield, Massachusetts, turning a big part of the town into rubble. This western Massachusetts town is finally able to show off its recovery with the opening of the new MGM Springfield.
The integrated luxury resort covers three city blocks, featuring a 250-room boutique hotel, an 8,000-square-foot pool, terraced rooftop gardens, fine and casual dining, our seven-screen Regal luxury cinema, bowling lanes, and an outdoor marketplace with seasonal skating inspired by classic New England town squares.
The landmark redevelopment blends new construction with downtown Springfield’s most storied buildings. It celebrates the region’s history while igniting a modern-day renaissance in the heart of Massachusetts.
Featuring blockbuster movies and luxury recliner seating, Regal MGM Springfield is the ultimate entertainment destination for movie fans. This cinematic paradise features seven cutting-edge auditoriums and a full bar, inviting guests to kick back and relax with their favorite feature films.
For this project, we were tasked with creating a lighter "Speakeasy" vibe. We appointed the lounge with Chesterfield sofas, glittering chandeliers and plenty of mood lighting as a nod to the bygone era. The Lounge also has a slight industrial vibe that balances out the elegance.

It was such an amazing experience to work with JKRP Architects and the MGM design team. We are extremely happy with how the space developed and the President & COO of MGM Springfield is too!
"It's a crowning achievement for us to welcome Regal to the resort," said Michael Mathis, President & COO, MGM Springfield. "We continue to offer our guests more and more reasons to visit downtown Springfield and experience New England's first truly integrated entertainment destination. Regal's unique product offering and luxury amenities are a phenomenal complement to our first-in-class service and style, setting the stage for world-class excitement on and off the screen at MGM Springfield."
In addition to hospitality design, we also design multi family development projects, other commercial spaces such as offices and retail spaces, and fitness center projects. We work here in Philadelphia, the main line, the tri state area and Nationally! If you enjoyed reading this piece please leave a comment and let us know. AND, let's get social.
