Up on the blog this week, it's all about the Statement Ceiling. You've probably come across statement walls and floors, but have you ever considered a statement ceiling? As the ceiling has been so ignored over the last 70 years, it’s definitely about to have its renaissance again. Ceilings, also known as the fifth wall, are equally as important as the other four or more that make up a room. The professional interior designers know that for maximum impact in any space, the ceiling is a wonderful canvas for wood beams, lacquer, or even wallpaper. Take a look at some of our favorite statement ceilings created by top interior designers!
The non-white Ceiling
A painted ceiling in a fresh hue adds an unexpected element to a room and makes it that much more special. It can add architectural interest to a humdrum space, or elevate the look with a subtle hint of pattern or texture. If color on your ceiling seems a bit daunting, try a glossy finish instead, which immediately transforms a neutral surface from bland to brilliant! This pale blue adds just the right amount of charm and elegance to this space.

Center Piece
Instead of covering your entire ceiling, experiment with stunning centerpieces that can add real architectural interest to your home. From decorative tiles to painted motifs, a centralized ceiling design will draw the attention of all that enter the room! A vaulted or barrel ceiling is an ideal canvas for a dazzling design, but if you have a flat surface to play with, consider other framing options, such as wood, tiles or lighting.

The Wood Ceiling
We all know that a hardwood floor looks simply incredible in any space… well this creation shows you it works just as nicely on the ceiling!

The Vault
Vaulted ceilings are coveted for a variety of reasons, mainly because they provide architectural interest and make a space feel bigger. In this midcentury home, the wooden vaulted ceiling is stained in a matte, dark hue to give it a more contemporary feel. The ceilings are a stark contrast to the bright white walls and the dark gray furniture.

Black Ceilings
Don't have any striking architectural details in your space? Are your ceilings low? One might think that painting a ceiling black will make it feel even lower, but the opposite is actually true. In this Hollywood condo, the ceilings are painted pitch black, which brings grandeur and life to an otherwise "white-box" space.

Wallpaper Ceiling
If you have irregular walls or slanted ceiling that ruins the “clean” interior look that you want to achieve - this advice will help you. Use wallpaper that has dense pattern design - it will disguise it. Works like a charm!

Stencil It
Want to create an applause worthy design for your dining room? Stencil a pattern that reflects your sophisticated taste like the one below. The ceiling is painted with an all over pattern in a blue hue. We love how this stencil adds a subtle yet dramatic flair to this ceiling.
