Up on the blog this week, I have been inspired by the break in the weather here in Philadelphia and I'm ready to break out my Spring attire. As an interior designer, first impressions are lasting ones so it's important for me to look my best. Everything from the clothes I wear to the handbags and the jewelry. So, I thought I'd take a little break from talking about interior design tips and turn it over to fashion. Don't worry, I'll be back next week with fresh design ideas for your home.
The trick to putting a stylish spring outfit together is starting out with chic basics, and then updating your style for the season. See what is on my wish list for this Spring and shop the links. I'm loving the looks from Tuckernuck right now!
Swap a turtleneck for a button down shirt. Swap the Winter favorite for a piece that’s just as crisp and polished, but that works better for the season. Crafted in a flattering silhouette from a crisp cotton poplin, the Night Bloom Willow Blouse is a must-have. Featuring a gold button front half-placket, folded collar, and high-low hem, this pullover in a fresh and moody floral pairs easily with everything from denim to leather pants.
NIGHT BLOOM BLOUSE
Featuring a high neck ruffle, tie back bow, and quarter length sleeves, the Faye Blouse pairs easily with denim or black pants. From desk to drinks with friends, this top is a must-have! I love the adorable blow back and vegan friendly faux leather finish!
COGNAC BLOUSE
The perfect white trainer. Think weekend cool, rather than gym shoe. Favored by the style crew for its off-duty cool, white trainers add a minimalist edge to spring outfits. Look for one in leather or sturdy canvas that has a slim silhouette and clean details. Founded in 1891 and originated in Sweden, Tretorns are a favorite for every day, season-less style. This classic leather sneaker is a closet must-have. The Mason Leather Sneakers are the perfect compliment to any outfit. Pair with everything from skirts to denim to playsuits for an elevated casual look.
CLASSIC WHITE SNEAKER
The cropped pant. Once an office classic and now an off-duty staple too, cropped jeans look relaxed but tailored too. Ideally you’d like a pair that sits at least mid waist and is cropped just above the ankle. My favorite Spring tip: you can wear them with heels and flats.
CROP WHITE JEANS
The light jacket. For chilly mornings and nights, a lightweight jacket is the ideal addition to your spring outfit. A trench coat is also a classic, but right now bomber jackets and denim jackets are trending for spring too. Jacket features a draped open front with pockets. Talk about the perfect seasonal layer for anything from brunch to date night!
SPEED JACKET
This high-neck ruffle blouse is the perfect combination of classic and fun. It's traditional design is perfect for the office or a night out.
WHITE MASON BLOUSE
Effortlessly chic, the Strapless Ivory Crepe Marin Top, evokes a timeless, luxurious feel. Featuring a back zip and flowy strapless silhouette, this top is perfect for any season. Throw on a blazer for chilly days and wear with denim for a more casual look.
STRAPLESS BLOUSE
Featuring a light blue and ivory trim along the hem, V-neckline, and seamed sleeves, the Camden Soft Sweater Poncho is prep-school chic. From running errands around town to cozying up by the fire, this can be paired with everything from a button down to a basic tee.
NAVY PONCHO
The easy dress. A dress is an all-in-one spring outfit. Find one that has a relaxed but chic silhouette and all you have to do is throw it on the morning and go. A rare, all day, every day, any event kind of dress your closet has been begging for- meet the Reese Mini dress. She pairs well with heels and sparkles for an effortlessly chic holiday look and keeps her cool with sneakers and sunnies for running around town. The textured fabric and stand collar give her the edge to stand out from all the other LBD’s out there.
BLACK MINI DRESS
It’s not quite the end of sweater weather, so don’t pack your knits away yet. This mod-inspired silhouette wears well from school drop-offs to meeting friends for drinks with its cozy fabric, turtleneck detail and a mini but not-to-short length. Pair with sneakers and a light jacket for a playful daytime look and switch to boots and statement jewelry for a chic but cozy night out.
GREEN TURTLE NECK DRESS
TERRY DRESS
Elevate your look from Winter to Spring with a reversible vest. For chilly mornings and nights, a lightweight vest is the ideal addition to your spring outfit. Functional and fashionable, the Emilia Wax Reversible Vest is the perfect combination for a winter wardrobe staple. Water-repellent on the wax side and cozy faux fur on the other, the styling possibilities are endless with this piece.
REVERSIBLE VEST
The Teggy Clutch features a palm leaf motif topped with a vintage-inspired leopard hardware piece. This oversized envelope silhouette will fit your essentials and make a statement with everything from dresses to denim.
TEGGY CLUTCH
The Citrus Garden Clutch is made from an iconic print from fabric house F Schumacher entitled “Citrus Garden” in the primary colorway. It features a motif of lemons and limes growing on leafy branches, above meadows of flowers and butterflies. It is an archival Josef Frank print from 1947 and has experienced a substantial renaissance in recent years. The hardware is a vintage frog belt buckle from 1972 and is gold plated. This oversized envelope silhouette will fit your essentials and make a statement with everything from dresses to denim.
GARDEN CLUTCH
Inspired by sea glass and sunny days, the Callan Drop Earrings are a stunning addition to any outfit. Soothing coastal hues make this style a must-have for warm-weather adventures. Pair with a bright day dress or jeans and a t-shirt.
DROP EARRINGS
Chic sunglasses that do not break the bank. This heart-shaped style is full of all the good feels and perfect for any outfit.
HEART SUNGLASSES
If there’s been one fashion lesson learned during lockdown, it’s that personal style doesn’t disappear in difficult times. For spring 2021 it’s all about mixing and matching trends and breaking the rules to find something that works for you.
