If you thought potato chips were addictive, try staying away from salami chips! Not only are these easy appetizers ultra tasty, but they’re a make-ahead option too. Both the dips and the chips can be stored in the fridge up to three days.
H e l l o!
Up on the blog today it's all about the appetizer! If you are like most interior design lovers, you more than likely also love to host guests to your beautifully styled home. Sometimes trying to find the time to do everything is nearly impossible especially when you are about to have people over. I know I often obsess about making sure everything is neat and organized and super clean inside the home. I've definitely been in situations where I don't have much to offer my guests to eat other than some nuts.
I recently was the date to a gathering at the home of a mutual friend. It was after work on a Friday evening and at just the right time that most people are getting hungry. Unfortunately the hostess, who was absolutely lovely and very gracious by the way, did not have any snacks or appetizers out. Which to be honest, wouldn't have been so terrible if I had time to eat something before heading over. It wasn't until 10 pm that we finally ate! I swear I was about to start snacking on my organic lip gloss as an appetizer! Which is why I thought I would focus on the appetizer this week.

Appetizer Plates
The appetizer is something munch on while dinner is prepared and the table readied, but will also feel welcomed into your home. Whether entertaining friends, family or acquaintances, you can use appetizer plates or similarly-sized salad plates for little snacks. Give your kitchen, patio and any other party space a down-home, rustic feel by using colorful, oven-to-table cookware for baked dips, breads or other starters. Use trays and platters both to transport hors d'oeuvres and to serve them—they double as a nice little piece of interior décor on a table while guests pick and munch.

Appetizer Napkins
It's always a good idea to keep a pack or two or three of fancy napkins laying around. I have a whole collection of them for when the occasion strikes! Printed napkins are one of my favorite accent for all types of celebrations. They set the tone, they set a theme, and of course, they are very useful! Not to mention that printed napkins are a practical, fun and an affordable event accent. They are a fabulous way to bring in a theme or special color to your celebration as well.

Appetizer Ideas
If you're new to hosting, live in a small space, or are simply want an easy weeknight entertaining idea, I've pulled together some easy options for you. Serve guests a spread of hearty make-ahead appetizers that require minimal prep the day of (aka warmed in the oven or poured out of a bag) and can be enjoyed while sitting or standing thanks to their small shape. Stock up on nibbles like salsa and chips, nuts, meats and cheeses, cut veggies, and pastries, then add a few touches to make them look special. Garnish drink glasses with fruit slices, drizzle hummus with olive oil and a dusting of paprika, and display everything on pretty dishes. Break out the seasonal dinnerware to make it feel like an event, and you've got yourself a party.
Procrastination happens to the best of us — but these easy apps got your back. Still don't have time? I get it, we are all super busy. Grab some bags of chips, if you're feeling fancy, make them truffle chips! Whatever you serve, your guests will be happy, just serve something!
Salami Chips with Grainy Mustard
Marinated Cheese
These bite-size make-ahead holiday appetizers are tart and flavorful with creamy centers. Assemble them up to a week in advance, then pop them into the fridge until your party.
Jalapeno Cheese Crisps
Your three favorite flavors: spicy, cheesy, and... bacon-y. You are going to love these easy crisps.
One last tip. Know your audience. If your guests have dietary restrictions, consider making an assortment of vegetarian gluten-free appetizers. It's always a good idea to have some fresh guacamole and some hummus on hand!
