Up on the blog this week it's all about Interior Design Tips for the couples moving in together who are budget conscious. For most couples, moving in together is all about the art of compromise as you turn your house into a home that reflects both of your tastes. Sharing a home is such a wonderful way for couples to create a space that is all your own. However, if you are on a budget, you may need some help figuring out how to spruce up your new space without spending your savings. Here are a few budget-friendly ways couples moving in together can add style to their space.

Make Your Bathroom Relaxing, But Functional
Your bathroom is an area that deserves special attention. Since you’ll both be getting ready in there together now, try to look for stylish ways to add storage and functionality to this space. It may even be fun to work together on some DIY decor options that will help you create a unique look without going over budget (even high-end decor can be had at a discount, though). You can use crates to add shelves for storage or even craft your own rustic towel bars if you need somewhere to put that extra towel. Looking for some more bathroom interior design ideas? Try making your own bath mat or stenciling your shower curtain. The possibilities for beautifying your bathroom are endless!

Create a Calm, Inviting Living Room
When you come home from a long day at work, chances are you just want to put your feet up in the living room. Your living space should be a relaxation station for both of you, so work together to come up with options that help you create the calm you need. If you each have your own living room pieces, it may be best to donate them and pick out a fresh piece of furniture you both love. A chaise sectional sofa can be a perfect solution to add style to your new home, especially if your living room has an odd shape. What’s more, it can let you both stretch your legs out after those tiring days. Once you have the sofa selected, try adding even more style with some beautiful houseplants and wall décor that will give your space a unique feel.

Bring Some Style to Your Bedroom
Sleep is essential for preventing stress and other health issues. However, adjusting to sleeping in the same bed as your partner can take some time. That’s why it is helpful to transform your bedroom into a sleep haven that meets each of your comfort needs. If you are working with an old mattress or one that is a bit small, think about replacing it with a new mattress. You may want to factor in sleep positions, temperature, and support into your shopping. It’s also important to find comfortable, stylish, affordable bedding options (and maybe some candles and lighting) to create a bedroom you can’t wait to relax in together.

And don’t forget to organize your bedroom closet. Some low-cost options include getting rid of clothes you haven't worn in over a year, adding a rod to double your space for hanging, and putting seasonal items in storage.

Enhance the Look and Feel of Your Kitchen
If you plan on making healthy meals in the kitchen together, you should spend some time upgrading this space too. It’s easy to makeover your kitchen with small changes, such as adding new knobs to cabinets or getting rid of outdated wallpaper. If you need to add some more storage but don’t want to detract style, try opting for open shelves or using light colors to add the illusion of more space. Another way you can add style and make your kitchen and other rooms look bigger is by using mirrors in your design scheme.

Spruce Up Those Outdoor Spaces
Your interior design adventures don’t have to stop inside, and they shouldn’t. With so many beautiful evenings ahead of you, it makes sense to makeover your outdoor spaces too. If you have a patio, try picking up some cute bistro sets to give yourselves a spot to enjoy morning coffee breaks. If you have a bit of a green thumb, you can even plant some container gardens to add a little natural beauty and grow your own herbs or berries too.
