If you are like me, you've saved your holiday gift wrapping to the last minute. So, I thought I would give you some tips on making your presents stand out this year.
The cardinal rule for me is Dull is the Enemy. I want your presents to be anything but dull and conventional. So, add some visual interest in a cost effective way.
1. Think outside the box (so to speak), and use wrapping paper that represents your personal style. If you don't have enough material to color code, try using a palette to unify the gifts you wrap. Then vary the materials. Everything you give with have your signature for the season.
2. Go Simple and Straightforward. Choose your packaging carefully. Design, color and functional. The secret to a beautifully wrapped box is not using too much paper, which causes bulky, sloppy folds. So, trim the paper to size.
3. Be different. In order to stand out, your packaging needs to be different. Think color and format to create an appealing yet distinctive packaging design. Make oversized, elegant bows using extra bits of paper, no ribbons or costly trimmings are necessary!
4. Keep it Current. Packaging provides a great platform to get creative and fresh. Use natural elements, velvet ribbon colored tape, even construction paper.
