H e l l o!
Up on the blog today, I'm remembering my days of living in Rome. When it comes to aesthetics, Italy has always been known for its innovative interiors. There are many different Italian interior styles but, what I love most is the modern, minimal aesthetic paired with classic architectural elements.
MODERN BATHROOM FIXTURES
Renowned for being at the forefront of modern interior design, the Italians have examined the bathroom and in the process have developed some innovative new approaches to design. Instead of creating objects to fill the bathroom, the Italian trend is to build the bathroom with entirely integrated fixtures. Rather than individual pieces, the bathroom becomes a single functioning unit. Controls are removed from the form and instead are integrated conveniently into the environment.

CLASSICALLY CLEAN
Whether it be a chic metropolitan apartment or a quaint villa in the countryside, Italian living spaces of all kinds exude elegance. The design often draws from the country’s rich culture, boasting traditional art (like frescoes and sculptures) and warm color palettes reflective of the landscape. But, don’t think Italy isn’t at the forefront of contemporary design—they often just pair it with classic regional influences to create a stylish blend of modern and historic.

MARBLE ELEMENTS
When it comes to elevating the luxuriousness of your home, Italian white marble has no equal. Of all natural stones, white marble has been favored for centuries by Greek and Roman sculptors as well as modern day interior designers, becoming a cultural symbol of refined taste. For homeowners, its dramatic veining, characteristic swirls, and completely unique patterns bring art and jaw-dropping beauty into any living space.
Elegant and timeless, every piece of marble is one-of-a-kind and impossible to replicate. It also lasts throughout the ages…think Michelangelo’s Davide or the Taj Mahal. But, since marble requires a bit of extra care, it’s sometimes debated whether it should go into a kitchen or not. The short answer is — absolutely! You just have to be open to being diligent about it's care through the years.
The most popular types of white marble today — Carrara, Calacatta, and Statuary — are all quarried from the same exclusive region in Italy.

STATEMENT LIGHTING
Walk into an apartment in Rome and you are sure to find a statement lighting piece hanging over the dining table, in the foyer or in the bedroom over the bed. There is nothing more glamorous and sexier than a statement Italian pendant lighting in a room that ‘wows’ people beyond belief.

MINIMAL KITCHENS
Italian cuisine has a longstanding reputation for fine dining, making the kitchen the centerpiece of many homes. An interior designer will often look to prominent restaurants in Italy for inspiration when designing their kitchens. Italian kitchens are known for their attention to detail and use of high-quality materials. It is often seen in the designer’s choice of cabinetry, appliances, counters, lighting fixtures, flooring, sinks, taps, and faucets.
Among the household names in the kitchen industry is Boffi, a company that has been interpreting the evolution of taste and technology for over fifty years, remaining synonymous with innovation and design at an international level.
